Site Planning, Design, Construction, Maintenance, Operations

In 2010, personnel from the Office of the Chief Information Officer at The Ohio State University (OSU) contacted TechSite to perform an assessment of the university’s primary data center. The service included evaluation of all facility infrastructure components in addition to their related architectural and security systems. After completion of the assessment and delivery of the final report with recommendations, OSU engaged TechSite to do a similar analysis of their secondary data center facility.

These reports formed a foundation for upgrade projects at the OSU facilities. In one of the first projects, TechSite assisted OSU personnel in verification of their rack power distribution systems. As part of this project, TechSite built a customized database that OSU now uses in combination with their existing facility record databases and applications.

TechSite then designed and installed a new Emergency Power Off (EPO) system for the primary facility. This system included demolition of an older EPO system which was undocumented and had become a source of concern in the building.

TechSite’s recommendation to install a centralized infrastructure monitoring system for both the primary and secondary facilities is being completed in 2013. TechSite both designed and managed installation of this system.

At OSU’s secondary facility, TechSite is completing design and Construction Administration for a Load Shed project. This project addresses concerns related to the sizing of the building generator at that location and will ensure that the most critical operations will continue to operate during a power outage.

TechSite Service Highlights:
