leased-house-developersServices: Leased Housing Developers is the property owner and management company for a federal governmental entity in Parkersburg, WV. In 2003, the data processing managers at this location desired to increase the available UPS power as well as consider options that would increase the reliability of their data center. The managers were also considering increasing the square footage of their data center to allow other federal government agencies to share space in the Parkersburg facility.

TECH SITE provided a site survey to review the existing conditions in the building. We then looked at multiple conceptual designs that would provide more reliable single and dual bus options. TECH SITE designed an upgrade that would allow expansion in a phased approach from 300 kVA to 600 kVA of UPS power without an outage. We also provided space planning service to increase the utilization of the existing data center. Drawings and a report were provided that summarized our recommendations and provided budgets for the improvements.

In 2010, Leased Housing contacted TECH SITE for help with another building upgrade for the same customer. This project involved the design to install a new utility transformer, and a new main-tie-main switchboard. The new utility transformer design included a mounting pad, security fence, and gravel surrounding. Also designed were two new conduit ducts. One of the duct banks connected the new utility transformer with the new main-tie-main switchboard in the electrical room. The second duct bank was designed in anticipation of a future generator installation. In the main electrical room of the building, TECH SITE designed an enlargement of room by removing an interior wall and expanding into an adjacent room.
